Celebrating one of our favourite independent London located shops and stockist, Darkroom, the suitably styled cover showcases a refined edit of their curated designers in a distinct palette of black, white and gold.
We are thrilled to announce LARKE’s debut stockist in the United States, Dover Street Market New York. The world renowned concept store is now carrying a curated edit of both men’s and women’s sunglass styles.
The New York store located in Murray Hill is Rei Kawakubo’s third Dover Street Market location, following London and Ginza. Not only is the space a curatorial masterpiece with many unique products and designer collections on sale, it also features many integrated art installations, from murals to staircase experiences. The sprawling seven-story space, which occupies a stately Beaux-Arts building on Lexington Avenue and 30th Street is a sight to behold and an experience to relish.
Our second exclusive partnership for the Spring Summer 2016 season sees the classic LOCKE model reappropriated in vibrant tones of tangerine, candy pink and moss green and fitted with gradient colour sun lenses for renowned womenswear designer Holly Fulton.

LARKE’s latest collaborative eyewear range debuted at London Fashion Week this weekend. Working in collaboration with Le Kilt’s Creative Director, Samantha McCoach on a series of 1960s inspired frames assembled in two-tone acetate combinations to compliment the seasons youthful colour palette.
LE KILT : STUPID GIRL : SPRING SUMMER 2016
For Spring Summer 2016, the kilt is re-imagined in traditional and contemporary Linton Tweeds, designed and woven in Scotland. In addition, this season also sees the introduction of a classic mini and a tailored two-piece. These are accessorised with a range of 1960s-inspired frames formed in collaboration between Le Kilt and British eyewear brand, LARKE optics. Playful fabric combinations allude to the youthful spirit of the collection, whilst McCoach also seeks to redefine the balance between tradition and modernity through the re-appropriation of iconic silhouettes.
In her continued exploration of the classic female wardrobe, the collection forms an extension of Creative Director, Samantha McCoach’s own subcultural uniform. Against the backdrop of legendary live music venue, the 100 Club, Le Kilt’s SS16 presentation embodies the characteristic attitude of counterculture and nonconformity.

The results are showcased in Milan during Salone del Mobile and the production process duly documented in the August issue of Wallpaper*.

Vanity set by Larke Optics and Frank / Photography – Felicity Ingram
Inspired by the French ivory vanity sets that were de rigueur during the late 19th century, Larke Optics and Frank have created a modern-day dresser set which comprises a hand mirror, three accessory trays, a lidded box and a vase. Made from Larke’s signature luminous acetates, each piece has been crafted using the tools and techniques of spectacle production.
We recently had the honour of being commissioned by Wallpaper* to design and create a series of products in collaboration with London based design studio FRANK for the sixth annual Wallpaper* Handmade exhibition.
Our collaborative concept was realised in the form of a vanity set, entirely handmade in our workshop from rare and obsolete cellulose acetate material. Comprising of six individual and lightweight elements specifically relating in scale, the same way as eyewear does to the body, the modular series comprises a hand mirror, three accessory trays, a lidded box and a vase. The trio of tray units sit individually or overlaid upon another, in conjunction with the additional three unique elements.
Utilising materials made specifically for the purpose of eyewear production, the varied colours and
patterns of which come alive at small-scale. Each singular piece has been crafted and finished using the specialist tools and traditional fastidious techniques of handmade spectacle production, in turn informing the scale, detailing and surface finishing.
These common objects having an alternative, unexpected vocabulary of form and finish; that of spectacles and the curated edit of materials. Resulting in a sophisticated yet functional contemporary vanity set that lends itself to a modern living environment.
Handmade is Wallpaper’s most proudly ambitious annual project, a groundbreaking exhibition dedicated to the marriage of craftsmanship and design and the spirit of customisation. Acting as patron and creative director, Wallpaper* has for the past five years cherry-picked a selection of some of the world’s finest designers, artists, makers and manufacturers, commissioning unique furnishings, fittings, installations and artworks. The resulting one-off products are showcased during the annual Salone del Mobile, where the Handmade exhibition has become the must-see of the week.
